The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize continuing education instruction for county commissioners to be completed online. Local Government ImpactAccording to Texas Association of Counties, no significant fiscal implication to counties is anticipated. The bill would have an insignificant but positive fiscal impact on El Paso County by eliminating an estimated $6,800 per year in commissioner's court travel and hotel costs. No significant impact to Castro County is anticipated.
