The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize a person who is eligible to receive a disabled veterans (DV) specialty license plate and certain organizations that are authorized to register a vehicle with a set of DV specialty license plates to elect to receive DV plates that include the international Symbol of Access. The bill would require the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) to adopt rules for issuing the new specialty license plates authorized by the bill.Based on the analysis provided by TxDMV, it is assumed the costs of implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources and the issuance of the new specialty plates would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State.
