H.R. No. 675 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Alejandro G. Meade III of Mission was appointed to the Texas Transportation Commission on March 21, 2023, for a term set to expire on February 1, 2025; and WHEREAS, Governing the Texas Department of Transportation, the Texas Transportation Commission adopts operational rules for the department, establishes policies regarding the state highway system, and helps to advance public transportation in the state; the commission is also responsible for developing a statewide transportation plan; and WHEREAS, Alex Meade is a certified public manager and economic development finance professional, and he currently serves as executive vice president of Texas Regional Bank; he previously led the Mission Economic Development Corporation as its chief executive officer and served as the city manager in Pharr; and WHEREAS, Mr. Meade holds a bachelor's degree in economics from St. Edward's University, a master's degree in business administration from The University of Texas at Brownsville, and a master's degree in public administration from UT Pan American; he also participated in the Texas Lyceum, and he has served on the boards of the Border Trade Alliance, the Texas State Technical College System, and the Texas Economic Development Corporation; and WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Alex Meade has upheld the highest standards of his profession, and he will bring to his new duties on the Texas Transportation Commission equal commitment and energy; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Alejandro G. Meade III on his appointment to the Texas Transportation Commission and extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Meade as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
