The bill would amend the Business & Commerce Code to authorize the Office of the Attorney General to issue civil investigative demands if there is reason to believe that a person has engaged in, is engaging in, or is about to engage in a violation of Chapter 20 of the Business & Commerce Code.According to the Office of the Attorney General, any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
