7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 41.0052, Election Code, is amended by |
---|
9 | 9 | | adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
---|
10 | 10 | | (a-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), a municipality, |
---|
11 | 11 | | independent school district, or hospital district wholly or partly |
---|
12 | 12 | | located in a county with a population of more than 19,900 and less |
---|
13 | 13 | | than 20,000 that holds its general election for officers on a date |
---|
14 | 14 | | other than the November uniform election date may change the date on |
---|
15 | 15 | | which it holds its general election for officers to the November |
---|
16 | 16 | | uniform election date. |
---|
17 | 17 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
