8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 241.102, Health and Safety Code, is | |
10 | 10 | amended by amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (f) to | |
11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (c) An applicant for medical staff membership or privileges | |
13 | 13 | may not be denied membership or privileges solely on the ground that | |
14 | 14 | the applicant is a podiatrist rather than a physician. | |
15 | 15 | (f) This section does not authorize a podiatrist to practice | |
16 | 16 | beyond the scope of the podiatrist's license to practice podiatry. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
