7	8		WHEREAS, The city of Longview lost a beloved resident with
8	9		the passing of Tracy Lee Vincent on July 30, 2024, at the age of 66;
9	10		and
10	11		WHEREAS, The son of Helen Hazel and James Thomas Vincent,
11	12		Tracy Vincent was born in Jacksonville on January 12, 1958, and he
12	13		grew up with the companionship of two brothers, Tommy and Harvey; he
13	14		graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1977; and
14	15		WHEREAS, Mr. Vincent relocated to Tyler in 1985 and
15	16		subsequently embarked on a fulfilling career in
16	17		telecommunications; while there, he was a dedicated member of Rose
17	18		Heights Church; after moving to Longview in 1995, he became highly
18	19		active in his community, giving generously of his time and talents
19	20		to a number of organizations, including as a member of the Longview
20	21		Chamber of Commerce and as chair of the Republican Party of Gregg
21	22		County from 2017 to 2019; moreover, he previously served as a
22	23		Republican precinct chair as well as a delegate to the Republican
23	24		National Convention, and he was involved in a number of other
24	25		political groups, such as the East Texans for Liberty Political
25	26		Action Committee and We The People-Longview; and
26	27		WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Vincent benefited from the
27	28		love and support of his wife, Donna, and he was the proud father of
28	29		seven children, Brandi, Justin, Melissa, Christopher, Melissa,
29	30		Stephanie, and Korbin; over the years, he was further blessed with
30	31		15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild; in his leisure time, he
31	32		enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was also known for his
32	33		entertaining campfire stories and spontaneous pranks; a man of
33	34		strong faith, he and his wife were members of Mobberly Baptist
34	35		Church; and
35	36		WHEREAS, While the death of Tracy Vincent brings great
36	37		sadness to his family and friends, he leaves behind a legacy that
37	38		will long be treasured by all those who held him dear; now,
38	39		therefore, be it
39	40		RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas
40	41		hereby pay tribute to the life of Tracy Lee Vincent and extend
41	42		sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it further
42	43		RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
43	44		prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
44	45		Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
45	46		Tracy Vincent.
