Referred to Committee on Environment. ***AUTHORS SUBJECT TO CHANGE*** AN ACT to amend 227.139 (4) (b); and to create 227.139 (4) (am) of the statutes; relating to: creating an exemption to certain requirements for rules promulgated by the Department of Natural Resources relating to groundwater protection standards for PFAS. Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau Current law requires an agency to suspend working on a permanent rule if it determines that the proposed rule may result in more than $10,000,000 in implementation and compliance costs over any two-year period. This bill creates an exemption from this requirement for any proposed Department of Natural Resources rule that relates to establishing groundwater protection standards for perfluoroalkyl or polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). SECTION 2. 227.139 (4) (b) of the statutes is amended to read: 227.139 (4) (b) If the department of natural resources believes that par.
