10 | | - | Whereas, Sheryl Albers graduated from Baraboo High School and went on to attend Carroll |

12 | | - | Whereas, Sheryl Albers was a proud farmer, having grown up on her family’s farm and returning to |

13 | | - | work at her family’s farm following college growing mint and soybeans before becoming a dairy farmer; |

15 | | - | Whereas, Sheryl Albers was elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 1991 in a special election, and |

16 | | - | served the people of the 50th Assembly District for 18 years until she retired in 2009; and |

17 | | - | Whereas, during her time in the assembly, Sheryl Albers served as the chair for several committees |

18 | | - | including the Elections and Constitutional Law Committee and the Property Rights and Land Management |

19 | | - | Committee, and she served as a member of the Joint Committee on Finance for several sessions; and |

20 | | - | Whereas, Sheryl Albers was a fierce advocate for the agriculture community and worked on issues |

21 | | - | affecting agriculture including property rights, rural economic development, and land use and zoning; and |

22 | | - | Whereas, while serving as a representative, Sheryl Albers attended the University of Wisconsin Law |
---|
23 | | - | School and earned her J.D. in 2004; and |

24 | | - | Whereas, following her service in the assembly, Sheryl Albers practiced law, which included working |

25 | | - | for the Juneau County District Attorney’s Office and the Wisconsin Supreme Court in the Office of Lawyer |

26 | | - | Regulation, and worked in human resources at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections; and |

27 | | - | Whereas, Sheryl Albers was recognized for her hard work and contributions to the farming |

28 | | - | community, having served as a member on the Sauk County Farm Bureau Board, being named Sauk |

29 | | - | County’s Miss Farm Bureau, recognized as an Outstanding Young Farmer, and being a member of several |
---|
30 | | - | agricultural associations including being a founding member of the Sauk County Women in |

31 | | - | Agriculture−Eagle Bluff Chapter; and |

32 | | - | Whereas, Sheryl Albers had many talents and hobbies including being a talented seamstress, creating |

33 | | - | craft gifts, traveling and appreciating art from around the world, enjoying the company of friends and |

34 | | - | hosting dinners, and she earned her private pilot’s license and owned a Terratorn Ultralight aircraft; and |
---|
35 | | - | Whereas, Sheryl Albers was a loving wife to her husband, Steve, and a mother to her son, Joel, and |
---|
36 | | - | four stepchildren, Kelly, Devon, Megan, and Tyler, and grandmother to seven grandchildren; and |

37 | | - | Whereas, Representative Sheryl Albers is remembered fondly for her strong work ethic, faith, |
---|
38 | | - | kindness, and service to her state and community; now, therefore, be it |
