27-Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 14

29- Section 1. Paragraphs (b) through (f) of subsect ion (2) of 16
30-section 1009.52, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as 17
31-paragraphs (c) through (g), respectively, present paragraphs (b) 18
32-and (c) are amended, and a new paragraph (b) is added to that 19
33-subsection, to read: 20

36- (2) Florida postsecondary student assistance grants may be 23
37-made to students who meet the general requirements for student 24
38-eligibility as provided in s. 1009.40, except as otherwise 25

23+Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 10

25+ Section 1. Paragraphs (b) through (f) of subsection (2) of 12

37+not exceed the maximum annual award amount specified in the 24

52-amount of demonstrated unmet need for tuition and fees and may 27
53-not exceed the maximum annual award amount specified in the 28
54-General Appropriations Act. A demonstrated unmet need of less 29
55-than $200 shall render the appli cant ineligible for a Florida 30
56-postsecondary student assistance grant. 31
57- (b) Awards may be made to full -time degree-seeking 32
58-students who have been accepted to a competency -based, nonprofit 33
59-virtual postsecondary institution that is accredited by a member 34
60-of the Council of Regional Accrediting Commissions, was created 35
61-by the governors of several states, and which employs a Florida 36
62-chancellor responsible for state and local workforce 37
63-coordination and financial aid reporting to the department. 38
64- (c)(b) Awards may be made to full-time certificate-seeking 39
65-students who have been accepted at an aviation maintenance 40
66-school that is located in this state, certified by the Federal 41
67-Aviation Administration, and licensed by the Commission for 42
68-Independent Education , regardless of the number of clock hours 43
69-required by the school's curriculum . Such student's eligibility 44
70-for the renewal of an award shall be evaluated at the end of the 45
71-completion of 900 clock hours, and, as a condition of renewal, 46
72-the student shall meet the requi rements under s. 1009.40(1)(b). 47
73- (d)(c) If funds are available, a student who received an 48
74-award in the fall or spring term may receive an award in the 49
75-summer term. Priority in the distribution of summer awards shall 50

89-of completing a degree or certificate program. No student may 52
90-receive an award for more than the equivalent of 9 semesters or 53
91-14 quarters of full-time enrollment, except as otherwise 54
92-provided in s. 1009.40(3). A student specified in paragraph (c) 55
93-(b) is eligible for an award of up to 110 percent of the number 56
94-of clock hours required to complete the program in which the 57
95-student is enrolled. 58
96- Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 59
