| 22 | 22 | | Section 1. Section 1001.35, Florida Statutes, is amended 9 |

| 24 | 24 | | 1001.35 Term of office. —District school board members 11 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | shall be elected at the general elect ion in November for terms 12 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | of 4 years, except that a person may not appear on the ballot 13 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | for reelection to the office of school board member if, by the 14 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | end of his or her current term of office, the person will have 15 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | served, or but for resignation would have served, in that office 16 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | for 8 12 consecutive years. Service of a term of office which 17 |

| 31 | 31 | | commenced before November 8, 2022, will not be counted toward 18 |

| 32 | 32 | | the limitation imposed by this section. 19 |
