increasing the civil penalty amount for violating The 4
Gas Safety Law of 1967; making grammatical changes; 5
providing an effective date. 6

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 368.061, Florida 10
Statutes, is amended to read: 11
368.061 Penalty.— 12
(1) Any person who violates any provision of this part, or 13
any regulation issued under this part hereunder, is shall be 14
subject to a civil penalty not to exceed $257,664 $25,000 for 15
each violation for each day that the such violation persists, 16
except that the maximum civil penalty may shall not exceed 17
$2,576,627 $500,000 for any related series of violations. 18
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 19
