2626 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 13

2828 Section 1. Section 196.092, Florida Statutes, is created 15
2929 to read: 16
3030 196.092 Verification of eligibility for certain disabled 17
3131 veterans and surviving spouses. —The Department of Revenue shall 18
3232 provide a form that a county property appraiser may use, at his 19
3333 or her discretion, to provide a person with tentative 20
3434 verification of such person's eligibility to receive an 21
3535 exemption or a discount und er s. 196.081, s. 196.082, or s. 22
3636 196.091, after submission by such person of the forms, 23
3737 documentation, and other proof necessary to qualify for the 24
3838 relevant exemption or discount after purchase of a homestead 25

5252 verification of eligibility is not binding upon the county 27
5353 property appraiser and that the person must comply with the 28
5454 annual application requirements of s. 196.011 and the 29
5555 requirements of s. 196.081, s. 196.082, or s. 196.091 in order 30
5656 to receive the exemption or discount authorized by those 31
5757 provisions. Decisions by a county property appraiser regarding 32
5858 whether to consider a request for tentative verification of 33
5959 eligibility for an exemption under this section; or a person's 34
6060 apparent eligibility to rec eive an exemption or a discount under 35
6161 s. 196.081, s. 196.082, or s. 196.091 after submission by such 36
6262 person of the forms, documentation, and other proof necessary to 37
6363 qualify for the relevant exemption or discount after purchase of 38
6464 a homestead property; are not subject to administrative or 39
6565 judicial review under chapter 194. 40
6666 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 41
