25	25	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 12

27	27	Section 1. Section 267.0724, Florida Statutes, is created 14
28	28	to read: 15
29	29	267.0724 Florida African American Heritage Preservation 16
30	30	Network.—As authorized by and consistent with funding 17
31	31	appropriated in the General Appropriations Act, the Department 18
32	32	of State shall contract, in accordance with the duties of the 19
33	33	division under s. 267.071, with the Florida African American 20
34	34	Heritage Preservation Network, a nonprofit organization exempt 21
35	35	from taxation pursuant to s. 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue 22
36	36	Code, to preserve Florida Black and African American history and 23
37	37	culture. Functions to be provided by the Florida African 24
38	38	American Heritage Preservation Network under the contract shall 25

51	51	include, but are not limited to, all of the following: 26
52	52	(1) Distribution of funding to support member museums and 27
53	53	their affiliates and institutions served, and the galleries and 28
54	54	archives of such museums, affiliates, and institutions. 29
55	55	(2) Support to member museums and their affiliat es in the 30
56	56	areas of technology, equipment acquisition, content and exhibit 31
57	57	development fabrication and installation, and preservation of 32
58	58	documents and artifacts. 33
59	59	(3) Provision of professional and resource development 34
60	60	services to member museums and their a ffiliates to enhance 35
61	61	visitation to and viewership of Florida Black History and 36
62	62	African American museums, places, and spaces. Such professional 37
63	63	and resource development services shall include conferences, 38
64	64	workshops, and training and tourism and marketing ex penditures. 39

66	66	Other expenses as determined by the Florida African American 41
67	67	Heritage Preservation Network and related to the network's 42
68	68	mission are eligible for funding under the contract, including 43
69	69	intern expenses, expenses related to field training sessions and 44
70	70	virtual communication methods to maintain connectivity among the 45
71	71	museums, traveling exhibit expenses, and expenses for living 46
72	72	history presentations. 47
73	73	Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 48
