6954 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7055 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
71-in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6 -181.1 of Title 2, unless the re
56+in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6-181.2 of Title 2, unless there
7257 is created a duplication in nu mbering, reads as follows:
58+A. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, a nd Forestry
59+shall review methods of remo te viewing or other digital inspection
60+technology for meat and poultry product inspections.
61+B. If the Department determines a suitable method of remote
62+viewing or other digital inspection technology upon completion of
63+the review, then the Department shall make application to the

100-A. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry
101-is hereby authorized to fund universities a nd colleges within The
102-Oklahoma State System of Higher Education to research methods of
103-remote viewing and other digital inspection technology for meat and
104-poultry product inspec tions, provided that there is available
105-funding.
106-B. If the Department determi nes that there is a suitable method
107-of remote viewing or other digital inspection technolo gy upon
108-completion of the review of the research by the universities and
109-colleges, then the Department shall make application to th e federal
110-agency governing meat and poultry inspections to request use of the
90+federal agency governing meat and poultry inspection to request use
91+of the technology.
92+C. Upon approval by the federal agency g overning meat and
93+poultry inspection, the Department shall promulgate rules to
94+implement the use of remote viewing or other digital inspection

112-C. Upon approval by the federal ag ency governing meat and
113-poultry inspections, the Department shall promulgate rules to
114-implement the use of remote viewing or other di gital inspection
115-technology for a pilot program to be co nducted by universities and
116-colleges researching the feasibility of such program and technology.
11796 D. The use of remote viewing or other digital inspection
11897 technology shall be restricted to inspections of meat and poultry
11998 products sold only in intrastate commerce, unless the federal agency
120-governing meat and poultry inspec tions approves it for interstate
99+governing meat and poultry inspection approves it for interstate
121100 commerce.
101+E. The videos from remote viewing or digital inspection
102+obtained pursuant to this section shall be kept confidential by the
103+Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry.
104+SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
